Pelagic Shift is a concept — a vision for what a not-for-profit outrigger paddling sportswear brand could look like. Rooted in Pacific heritage, driven by community, and designed to give back to the ocean and the people who live by it.

Our logo is not just a graphic — it is a declaration. The Drua is the great double-hulled sailing canoe of Fiji, one of the most sophisticated ocean-going vessels ever built by human hands. Enclosed within a circle — the unbroken cycle of the ocean, the horizon, the community — and framed by the delta triangle, the symbol of change, of forward motion, of the bow cutting through water.
Together, these three elements form the Pelagic Shift mark: a brand identity rooted in Pacific heritage and pointed toward athletic performance. Every garment that carries this mark is a piece of that story.
A Different Kind of Brand.
Most sportswear brands exist to generate profit for shareholders. Pelagic Shift is designed to be different. As a planned not-for-profit organisation (registration pending), the intention is that every dollar of surplus generated by the sale of gear will be reinvested directly into the communities and causes that matter most.
This means that once launched, wearing Pelagic Shift gear will do more than clothe you for the water — it will actively support Pacific paddling communities, fund reef conservation, and preserve the cultural heritage of the ocean people who inspired this brand. This is our commitment, and your GoFundMe support helps make it possible.
Pacific Paddling Communities
Club equipment, youth development programmes, and race entry fees for paddlers in Pacific Island communities who lack access to quality gear and resources. Outrigger paddling should be accessible to everyone who feels the call of the ocean.
Ocean & Reef Conservation
Contributing to Pacific reef restoration projects and ocean plastic clean-up initiatives. We intend to use recycled and sustainable materials in production — and a portion of every future sale is planned to fund the ecosystems that sustain Pacific Island life (subject to production decisions).
Cultural Heritage
Preserving and promoting the traditions of Pacific navigation — the Drua, the star paths, the oral histories — through education, storytelling, and community events. The knowledge of the ocean people must not be lost.
